C (Affleck) and M (Mara) are a young couple. When C dies unexpectedly he returns to the house as a ghost in a white sheet and watches his wife grieve and move on, while he remains and tries to figure out the afterlife.
It’s an odd premise for a film, a ghost being a man in a white sheet. But everything about this film is a little unconventional. It’s largely a quiet film, there’s not a lot of dialogue, as the ghost can’t talk, and there’s moments like a long, long scene where M eats an entire pie out of grief and then throws up.
