When someone who bakes a lot says something is easy, I think it’s hard for non-bakers to take it seriously. But most good home-bakers don’t gravitate towards complicated recipes… indeed most of us try and avoid them. I don’t spend hours baking intricate French patisseries. There is nothing worse than trying to decipher a bake with two dozen ingredients and three pages of instructions. People that write these books are living in some sort of fantasy world of baking. So this recipe is one which I was somewhat skeptical about, because of its sheer simplicity. It requires two bowls, a whisk, and a baking tin 7-8″ in diameter.
