The peaceful morning
It was early morning, and the sun had just begun to peek over the horizon. The air was still and the only sound was the tweeting of birds in the nearby trees.
Suddenly, there was a rustling in the bushes and all the birds went silent. A deer stepped out into the clearing, cautiously sniffing the air.
It must have sensed something was wrong, because it turned and sprinted away into the wilderness.
Pleasure is the sweetest thing
It’s what we all crave
It’s what makes us feel alive
And it’s what we all seek
Pleasure is what we all want
And it’s what we all need
Pleasure is what makes us happy
And it’s what makes life worth living
So let’s all enjoy pleasure
And let’s all seek it out

Bitter
It was a bitter pill to swallow, learning that her husband had been cheating on her for years. But she choked it down, determined to never give him the satisfaction of seeing her crumble. She would be strong, for herself and for her children. They deserved that much.
It was a bitter cold winter, and she spent many nights huddled in front of the fireplace, trying to keep warm. She would occasionally catch a glimpse of her husband in the distance, and the sight of him only made her more bitter. But she refused to give in to her emotions.
One day, she decided to confront him. It was a bitter confrontation, and neither of them emerged unscathed. But she felt better for having finally voiced her pain and anger.
Now, she was moving on. It was a bittersweet feeling, knowing that her marriage was over. But she was determined to make the best of it. She had survived the worst, and that made her stronger.

bragging rights and enduring glory.
But what is a high score,
and who decides?
Is it the number of games played,
the longest time spent playing,
or the most points scored?
It’s up to each individual
to set their own personal best
and strive to beat it.
So go forth and play,
and may the highest score be yours!
A Night to Remember
Anna had just arrived at her friend Elena’s house for a sleepover. They had been planning it for weeks and were both very excited. After they had made themselves comfortable on Elena’s bed and exchanged some gossip, they decided to watch a movie.
Halfway through the film, Elena’s younger brother Miguel came into the room to say goodnight. He gave Elena a kiss on the cheek and then went to kiss Anna on the cheek too. Anna was so startled that she jumped up and hit her head on the headboard.
“Ow!” she exclaimed.
“Are you okay?” Miguel asked, looking concerned.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Anna said, rubbing her head.
She was embarrassed but also secretly happy that Miguel had kissed her. It was the first time a boy had ever done that and she could feel her cheeks flush red. She tried to act nonchalant about it, but she could tell that Elena could tell something was up.
“What was that about?” Elena asked after Miguel had left the room.
“Nothing,” Anna said, blushing. “I just got a little surprised, that’s all.”
Elena smiled!
Miguel, you scared me!” She rubbed her head and then lay back down.
The two girls laughed and Miguel apologized before leaving the room. They finished their movie and then got ready for bed. As they were getting into their pajamas, Elena’s mom called up to them to say goodnight. Elena told her they were already in bed and then she and Anna said goodnight to each other and turned out the lights.
Despite the broken headboard, Anna had a great time at her sleepover and was excited to do it again soon.

A Day With Ruthie
One summer day, a young girl named Ruthie was helping her mom cook dinner. Ruthie loved to help her mom cook, and she was always eager to learn new things.
Ruthie learned how to make her mom’s famous chicken and dumplings. It was a lot of work, but Ruthie loved every minute of it.
When dinner was finally ready, Ruthie’s mom let her set the table and help serve the food. It was a wonderful meal, and Ruthie was so proud of herself for helping to make it.
This was a wonderful summer day that Ruthie will always remember. She was able to learn a new skill, help her mom cook dinner, and feel proud of herself for a job well done.
This day is just one example of the many happy memories that Ruthie will have of her childhood summers.
The wind whips through their hair as they pedal harder and harder, the red car gaining on them. They can hear the engine revving, and the tires squeal on the pavement. They pedaled as fast as they could, but the car was right behind them. They could see the driver’s face now, and they were grinning. There was no way they were going to make it. The car was about to hit them when they felt a sudden jolt and they were thrown from their bikes. They hit the ground hard, and the car sped away. They lay there for a moment, trying to catch their breath, before they got up and looked around. They saw their bikes mangled and their clothes torn. They were lucky to be alive.
A squirrel was sitting on a fence, minding its own business, when a cat approached. The cat looked up at the squirrel and said, “Hey, you! What are you doing up there?”
The squirrel just looked back at the cat and said nothing.
The cat then said, “You know, you’re not fooling anyone. We all know what you’re up to. You’re just trying to get a good view of the neighborhood so you can plan your next robbery!”
The squirrel just blinked and said nothing.
The cat then lost its patience and said, “Look, I’m warning you. If I catch you stealing from any of my friends, I’ll make you wish you’d never been born!”
And with that, the cat stalked off.
The squirrel just sat there on the fence, shaking its head.
A flock of birds can be a beautiful sight.
They are free to fly where they please,
And they always seem to be having fun.
But there is more to a flock of birds than meets the eye.
These creatures have a special bond with each other,
And they are always there for each other when one is in need.
A flock of birds is a true example of friendship,
And they are always there to lend a helping wing.
