Movie Review: Growing up with “Special” parents, a concerned but sardonic “Wildflower” — Movie Nation

You’ve got to be brave when you include “special needs” characters in your movie. There are sensibilities, issues of compassion, prejudice in a “pre-judging” sense and even nomenclature that can get you into trouble. I hesitate to even mention movies that might encompass that term, because characterization is everything these days. “Rain Man” and “Benny […]

The Daily Spur-Mud
The Girl Who Wanted to Play in the Mud
It had been raining for what felt like days on end, and the ground was finally starting to get muddy. Little rivers of water were running through the campsite, and everyone was doing their best to avoid them. The mud was definitely not something anyone wanted to get in.
But one little girl, who shall remain unnamed, was not content to just sit around and avoid the mud. She wanted to play in it. She wanted to feel it squish between her toes, and she wanted to make mud pies.
So, while everyone else stayed dry and mud-free, the little girl had the time of her life playing in the mud. She made mud pies, mud mountains, and even mud castles. She was covered from head to toe in mud, and she loved every minute of it.
Eventually, the rain stopped and the sun came out. Everyone else started to venture out of their tents and see the damage the rain had done. But the little girl was nowhere to be seen.
They finally found her, fast asleep in her muddy little castle. And she was covered in dried mud, from head to toe.
#Ragtag Daily Prompt -Imprecation
An imprecation is a curse or a sworn oath.
When I’m feeling angry or upset
I’ll often times write out an imprecation
So that I can feel better and get
All of my pent up aggression out
I know it’s not the most constructive way
But it helps me to feel better in the moment
And hopefully I won’t have to resort to it
Too often in the future
But when someone really gets under my skin
I’ll let loose with an imprecation
That will hopefully make them squirm
So beware if you ever cross me
Because you might just end up
On the receiving end of an imprecation!
The Oldsmobile
The Oldsmobile was a car that was ahead of its time. It was one of the first cars to have a V8 engine and it was also one of the first cars to have power steering. The Oldsmobile was a car that was built to last and it did. There are still a few Oldsmobiles on the road today and they are still going strong.
Setting and Achieving Goals
Think about your life and what you want to achieve. Do you have any specific goals in mind? If so, what are they?
When it comes to setting goals, it’s important to be realistic. If your goal is too large or unattainable, you’ll only end up disappointed. However, if your goal is too small, you may not be motivated to achieve it.
The best way to set a goal is to find a balance between the two. Choose something that you really want to achieve, but make sure it’s something you can realistically accomplish.
Once you’ve set your goal, it’s important to make a plan. What steps do you need to take to achieve your goal? Write them down and make sure you’re committed to taking action.
Achieving a goal takes time and effort, but it can be extremely rewarding. The satisfaction of knowing you’ve accomplished something you set out to do is an incredible feeling.
If you’re having trouble achieving a goal, don’t give up. Talk to someone who can help you, or look for resources that can assist you. There are plenty of people who have been in your shoes and understand the challenges you’re facing.
Healthy Living
Making healthy living a part of your regular routine can help reduce your risk of developing chronic diseases, such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Here are some tips for adding healthy habits into your life:
- Eat a variety of nutrient-rich foods. Fill half your plate with fruits and vegetables, and make sure to include whole grains, lean protein, and low-fat dairy.
- Get active every day. Adults should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity per week.
- Limit sedentary behaviors, such as watching television and spending time on the computer.
- Don’t smoke, and stay away from secondhand smoke.
- Drink alcohol in moderation, if at all.
- Be aware of food safety practices.
- Maintain a healthy weight.
- Get regular physical exams and screenings.

Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?
Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?
There are many different animals that people can compare themselves to, but the one that best suits me is the cat. I am independent, yet social when I want to be. I am also curious and like to explore new things. I am also a good hunter (when it comes to finding new information or solving problems).
