A Passion for Green

On St. Patrick’s Day, people wear green to show their Irish pride. Green is the national color of Ireland, and has been associated with the country for centuries. In the early days of Christianity in Ireland, green was the color of the shamrock, a plant that was said to have magical powers. Today, wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day is a way of showing your support for Ireland and all things Irish.

St Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated annually on March 17. It is said that St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, drove the snakes out of Ireland. Legend also has it that he used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to the Irish people. The holiday is celebrated by wearing green, eating Irish food, and drinking Irish beer. St. Patrick’s Day is a great day to celebrate Irish culture!
